Let’s face it—we are not para-celebrity ghost hunters and we don’t have a television network backing us and opening doors. So we do the next best thing…entering steadily and surely into the lucrative world of the business of ghost hunting.
And a lucrative world it is!
Paranormal is currently big business…
Paranormal television is responsible for generating the interest that keeps these Disneyworld’s of the Spiritual Realm open. It’s a simple formula: the shows, if creative enough, bring in high viewer ratings which is obviously vital to the continuation of a series. Paranormal activity—or the representation of—is essential for survival on the networks. And it all eventually filters down to the paying venues that you and I shell out hard earned cash to visit. Like the television shows, paranormal activity is key in keeping these “haunted” locations open to venturing ghost hunters. They hunger for the experiences they have viewed on the shows. A location can only live so long under their “reputation.” For those vendors, who have placed forth an investment and the sacrifice of their personal time in countless lost hours and weekends developing and nurturing a haunted paying venue, it becomes a matter of survival in a highly competitive field. The groups need to come…cash flow is crucial! And a genuine haunting also helps….
That’s where the rub lies—the greater part of the time it just doesn’t happen!
